Auto Agent acquires the UsedCarsForSale.co.za website
Good news for sellers of used cars is that Auto Agent has acquired the www.usedcarsforsale.co.za website and plans to integrate it into its already impressive array of website tools and services, currently available to used car dealers in South Africa.
The UsedCarsForSale.co.za domain has been operating under a free listings model using a classifieds PHP script from http://www.68classifieds.com/ and has served the general public and used cars dealers well since 2004. Andries Bodenstein has been the driving force behind the website and initially used it as a platform to advertise and sell cars that he repaired. What started as a hobby, turned into a very successful car sales website and Andries was only too happy to have the general public register for an account and upload cars for free. He was not interested in making it his primary business though, as he had many interests and preferred buying and fixing cars to running a used car website as his business.
Noticing that the UsedCarsForSale.co.za website was not performing as well as it could be, Pierre Theron from Auto Agent contacted Andries in June 2013 and made him an offer, not really sure if the website was available. To great surprise and delight, Andries said that he would consider the offer and within a day or two the deal was concluded. As of this writing, UsedCarsForSale.co.za is under new management and will be upgraded from the classifieds listing website onto the Auto Agent platform, to improve the offering the used cars buyers and sellers alike.
Sadly, for those who have enjoyed the previously free UsedCarsForSale.co.za classifieds website, it will come to an end in July 2013 when a brand new, responsive mobile friendly website will be launched catering for all Auto Agent clients. The free websites effectiveness waned over the last few years, as without any income to promote and market itself; the website did not get the correct exposure.
